What JR-related accomplishment are you especially proud of?

I’m quite proud of all Jackson River’s accomplishments. Being the old timer that I am, I’ve had the pleasure of participating in much of the growth and successes of Jackson River. I’ve enjoyed seeing the company go from working on small Drupal websites to the enterprise-sized organizations and projects we support today. And while I’m a bit biased, I’m also proud of our Springboard platform.

What are your favorite things to do in your job? What work excites you the most?

I enjoy being part of a process that delivers much-needed Internet-technology products to the world of nonprofits. It is extremely rewarding watching something go through all steps in the process from idea to functioning feature. It’s a difficult road at times, but in the end, it’s always worth it. I also enjoy building software and the creative process that goes along with it. I’ve really enjoyed working for a small organization and helping it grow. That has been extremely rewarding for me.

What’s your favorite animal?

Hermit crab.

What can you be found doing on weekends?

In the limited free moments not spent raising two humans, I like to brew beer, skateboard, golf and go on dates with my wife.

What are your pet peeves?

grumpy systems administrators, people who take themselves too seriously, the short checkout line that takes the longest to get through.

Advice you’d like to share?

Strap in.

I work at Jackson River because I believe in our mission and the team that started this company. I continue to believe we can change the way technology is delivered to and consumed by nonprofits. We have an extremely talented team, and we will only get better over time.
