What JR-related accomplishment are you especially proud of?
I’m quite proud of all Jackson River’s accomplishments. Being the old timer that I am, I’ve had the pleasure of participating in much of the growth and successes of Jackson River. I’ve enjoyed seeing the company go from working on small Drupal websites to the enterprise-sized organizations and projects we support today. And while I’m a bit biased, I’m also proud of our Springboard platform. I’m proud that it’s free and open source, and that non-profits can use it without any extra fees on top of their normal hosting costs. That is pretty cool.
What are your favorite things to do in your job? What work excites you the most?
I enjoy being part of a process that delivers much-needed Internet-technology products to the world of nonprofits. It is extremely rewarding watching something go through all steps in the process from idea to functioning feature. It’s a difficult road at times, but in the end, it’s always worth it. I also enjoy building software and the creative process that goes along with it. I’ve really enjoyed working for a small organization and helping it grow. That has been extremely rewarding for me.
