We’re excited to start 2017 by rolling out three terrific new Springboard features, including:
Oh, and have we mentioned that Springboard’s getting a minor makeover? We’re rolling out our shiny new Springboard logo this month, with some tweaks to the admin interface slated for upcoming releases. Let us know what you think!
Giving should be a one-click affair. With One-Click Donate, when your supporters are making a donation, you can now offer them the chance to save their credit card for future use, as well as to manage their card on file via their secure Donor Portal.
Behind the scenes, the card information gets stored securely with your payment gateway, (not Springboard) and Salesforce gets a record of the donor’s One-Click Donate subscription details. Then, when sending emails, you can easily include an encrypted, personalized link that allows the donor to give with a single click. One Click Donate is customizable for use on a form-by-form basis, as are the welcome emails that connect supporters with their Donor Portal, where they manage all of their info -- from passwords to online and offline gift history to card updates.
Apple Pay Integration
Our newest integration allows supporters to make donations through Apple Pay, which uses the donor’s payment information already saved with their existing iCloud account.
You can add Apple Pay as an additional payment method on any donation form, which will only show up as an option for supporters who are donating on an iPhone, iPad, or a Mac (in other words, Apple devices and browsers). Once a supporter selects Apple Pay, the form automatically connects with their iCloud account, using fingerprint authentication to easily authorize the donation. Supporters on touchscreen devices will automatically see the fingerprint authentication option, while those in non-touchscreen environments will be asked to confirm on a touchscreen device. Once confirmed, the donation will immediately process on the donor’s original device, redirecting to the confirmation screen.
We are thrilled to add Apple Pay as the latest of our (fourteen!) payment methods and gateway options, and are excited to see how our clients will use it in their campaigns to further simplify giving.
New Social Options
Previously, Springboard Social relied on the AddThis module to power all of our social share and tracking functionality. This is still an option, but at a client’s request, we’ve built a native version of Springboard Social that doesn’t rely on AddThis, giving organizations the ability to choose how they’d like their sharing functionality to display and to collect data. We’ll be tracking this closely, but early tests suggest that the new native functionality will provide enhanced consistency and reliability in data collection, giving orgs a more accurate picture of how their campaigns are performing and circulating.
Improvements & Updates
As with all of our releases, Springboard 4.13 includes enhancements such as a tool to allow administrators to re-queue donations for export to Salesforce on an as-needed basis; maintenance and bug fixes when necessary; and proactive platform work to increase stability and security.
