Although spring isn’t officially here, Springboard 4.14 has sprung! Our latest release includes helpful new Advocacy features, including:
Custom Advocacy Groups
Springboard Advocacy has always allowed for creating custom message targets for campaigns aimed at corporate contacts, non-elected officials, and other recipients. Now, admins can create, name and save custom advocacy groups, allowing them to re-use these groups as needed for future petitions, letters, or calls. Custom groups can include any type of target: legislative, committee, executive, or individual custom targets.
Custom advocacy groups are intended to save your staff time and energy as they undertake sustained grassroots efforts to engage supporters on campaigns with ongoing milestones, such as the fight to defend healthcare, where there might be multiple votes or actions intended to influence specific groups of legislators (or other targets) over time.
Organizations can now easily create a form for their supporters to look up either (or both) federal and state representatives and senators. As with all other Springboard forms, the Legislator Lookup is fully style-able to match an organization’s design with pixel-perfect precision.
Admins can choose to display full decision-maker contact information, or to display only phone numbers if the desired action is to have supporters call their congresspeople. On the form, supporters enter their address, which gets standardized and then displays the appropriate, action-type-specific contact information. For phone actions, the Legislator Lookup can be combined with talking points content and an option to log call results, so that the organization can track the impact and outcomes of the campaign.
Multiple Address Management
Supporters can now have multiple, separate addresses on file associated with their profile for different types of activity. For example, a supporter might have a billing address stored for each credit card that they use to make donations, distinct from a physical address used when they take action on an issue or campaign. This is particularly helpful for supporters living in rural areas or with PO boxes who want to use a physical address for accessing their correct legislator information and taking action.
Improvements & Updates
As with all of our releases, Springboard 4.14 includes enhancements such as the ability to update payment methods for organizations using the Braintree credit gateway; additional availability of multi-currency symbols for organizations who fundraise in multiple currencies; and expanded support for displaying a complete country list, if desired, throughout the Springboard admin area as well as supporter-facing forms. This release also includes minor maintenance and bug fixes and proactive platform work to increase security.
