Of the many great conversations I had at the last Nonprofit Technology Conference, the "how did you do it" question was the primary topic. I ran into so many people I've gotten to know over the dozen years that I've been in the nonprofit space, and almost all of them asked this question:  how did Jackson River grow a business on 100% referrals and an excellent reputation. My typical reply was that we have a really talented caring team, incredibly skilled developers, and put our hearts into everything we do.

Once again, Jackson River is hiring. As I posted the jobs on various sites today I was thinking about what makes this company so great. Here are six of many things that make us so awesome. And, they are darn good reasons to consider working here.

Jackson River is hiring, so my inbox is full of job applications.  Today I thought I would share some thoughs on the application and hiring process. We get hundreds of resumes whenever we advertise, and many are not relevant at all. One of the resumes I got for Project Manager today was for a construction project manager. While I was impressed that this guy knew how long it took cement to dry before bringing in the welder, he clearly had no idea who we were or what we did. Even of the relevenat resumes, only one or two are worth follow-up.

Why I hate your RFP

Before I begin – I certainly don’t mind giving you a written estimate for your possible project. Now that that’s out of the way, I want to talk about why I don’t like RFPs.

Working from the Houston, Texas "office" Jackson River is pleased to welcome Brian Pickett to our growing team. Brian will be on the Client Service team as a project manager but brings deep CRM and marketing experience.
