Alice Hendricks, CEO. Alice is an accomplished executive with 14 years of leadership and management experience helping nonprofit organizations resolve complex organizational and technological problems. Alice provides coaching, technology consulting, process design, change management and staffing strategy to some of the top leaders and pioneers in the nonprofit world. Alice is an expert in cause marketing, online fundraising, websites, social and mobile strategies, marketing automation, and brand empowerment for nonprofits. Alice’s work is informed by the latest in supporter and donor engagement strategies and tactics, the ever-changing landscape of technology and tools, and the diverse operational models of different types of nonprofits. She has particular expertise with leveraging the emotional intelligence and wisdom within nonprofits and takes a holistic approach to organizational change. Alice works with Jackson River clients on management consulting projects, building highly functional teams, choosing effective software, and designing processes for maximum efficiency. Prior to founding Jackson River, Alice was VP of Client Service at GetActive software, a Managing Partner at Kintera (both now Blackbaud).
Tom Williamson, President. Tom is the former Vice President of Professional Services at Kintera and Managing Partner of CTSG, and works with Jackson River clients blending his talent for understanding people, systems, and organizational needs with his practical knowledge of non profit technology. Tom leads Jackson River's Technology Services Practice and is responsible for all Jackson River technology consulting and technical project management engagements.
TJ Griffin, Founding Partner. TJ is a former Manager at Convio and has held leadership roles at both GetActive and Kintera. TJ's practical hands-on knowledge of the leading technology systems and non profit background give him a unique insight into Jackson River client needs, internal capacities, and desired goals. Widely regarded for his strategic thinking, problem solving, and blue collar work ethic, TJ heads Jackson River's Austin, TX virtual office.
Cristen Perks, VP, Professional Services. Cristen is the former Director of Web Development at Advomatic and Partner, Director of Client Services at EchoDitto. Cristen is responsible for managing the operations of Jackson River’s professional services department. She has extensive experience managing resources and developing processes to implement successful online strategies. Cristen works to ensure Jackson River’s project teams deliver the best results for our clients.
Technology and Account Team
Federico Castaneda, Web Producer. Federico is a Web Producer with over 5 years of experience in the Washington DC area. Prior to joining Jackson River, he was a production team member at The Brick Factory, a leading DC digital agency. During his time there, he participated in large and small scale projects, including the Pickens Plan lobbying effort for green energy infrastructure development, and various online presences for Gubernatorial candidates and wild life conservation organizations such as the Panthera Corporations Panthera.org.
Ben Clark, Web Developer. Prior to joining Jackson River, Ben worked as the Coordinator of Information Services at the College of Social Sciences & Public Policy at Florida State University. During his time at FSU, he functioned as the College webmaster, Linux & Windows server administrator, and effective head of IT support for the College. As webmaster, he spearheaded a transition to Drupal in 2007 and never looked back. He brings to Jackson River over ten years of web-related experience with a focus on serving clients' needs.
Jennie Corman, Senior Project Manager. Jennie came to Jackson River from the ACLU, where, as Associate Director of IT for Internet Technology, she spearheaded ACLU's migration to Springboard, as well as other technical projects. She has been working in technology for more than ten years, from a start at GE's Global Research Center as a Computer Scientist, followed by working at Expedia as a Senior Program Manager for European points of sale. She currently lives mostly in New Haven, CT, with regular jaunts to Brooklyn.
Sheena Donnelly, Web Developer. Sheena is a designer-turned-developer who has been working exclusively with Drupal for almost 4 years. Before joining the Jackson River team she worked as the lead designer/themer at TopNotchThemes where she maintained the Fusion base theme and contributed code to a number of other Drupal projects. Sheena lives in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina and is an avid baseball fan; though you might want to wait until next year to ask how the Cubs are doing.
Allen Freeman, Web Developer. Allen has been a respected and active member of the Drupal developer community for over four years. He has maintained a number of contributed modules and organized and ran a local Drupal User's Group in Raleigh, NC. Prior to joining Jackson River he worked as a web developer for McClatchy Interactive.
Jeremy Isett, Web Developer. Jeremy has been helping non-profits discover the power and potential of Drupal for over 7 years. He has worked with Harvard University, The Benton Foundation, The National Governors Association and many other respected institutions.
Julia Kulla-Mader, Project Manager. Julia has been helping nonprofits build Drupal websites as a web developer and project manager since 2006. Prior to joining Jackson River, she worked as a project manager at TopNotchThemes, as the IT Manager for the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE), and as a web developer at DesignHAmmer. Julia lives in Durham, NC with her husband and preschooler.
Seth Leonard, Project Manager. Seth has been developing and managing non-profit web technologies since 1995. Prior to joining Jackson River, he served as the Online Director at Earthjustice. He has successfully led the overhaul and migration of many CRM and CMS systems, and takes pride in guiding organizations through technological transitions. He takes tea and baseball very seriously. Seth lives in Berkeley, CA with his wife and dog.
Kate McKenney, Project Manager. Kate has more than 10 years experience in online strategy, communications and web technology. Prior to joining Jackson River, she was the Digital Communications Director at Free Press and led the organization through multiple CRM migrations and website redesigns. She understands the importance of organizations finding the technologies and processes that work for their mission, and especially for the staff using them. Kate lives in the hills of western Massachusetts with her partner and loves cheese, soccer and badminton.
Misty McLaughlin, Senior Consultant. Misty is the former Principal User Experience Consultant at Blackbaud, previously Convio, where she founded and lead a strategic services consulting group. After 8 years of consulting with nonprofit organizations and a previous career in content strategy for higher education, she joined Jackson River to develop the Springboard product interface and to help define our strategic consulting services. She has a Master's degree in Information Science, co-chairs a nonprofit board, and has worked with nonprofits and NGOs of all shapes and sizes.
Ron Northcutt, Web Developer. Before coming to Drupal 4.6 (seven years ago), Ron had careers as a real estate broker, a massage therapist, a webmaster, a tech support specialist, and even a ranch manager. He brings this wide range of experience to his projects and has the ability to create order out of chaos by identifying solutions that are as clean and efficient as possible. Ron has a passion for Drupal, both the code and the community, and enjoys sharing his knowledge and supporting open source projects.
Patrick O'Brien, Web Producer. Pat has been developing web sites since 2002, and has been primarily focused on the Drupal open-source content management system for the past three years. Prior to jointing Jackson River, Pat was the primary web developer for the University of Missouri School of Journalism Strategic-Communication department. Additionally, he has developed web sites for clients ranging in complexity from content-intensive medical institutions, to design-intensive advertising web sites. Pat also has a background in graphic design and has previously taught a design lab at the University of Missouri.
Jenn Olivia, Project Manager. Jenn brings 17 years of project management and leadership experience to her work at Jackson River, as well as a passion for technology, media arts and social justice. She has over five years of non-profit administration experience, most recently serving as the Director of Technology and Operations at Bay Area Video Coalition (BAVC) in San Francisco. In 2008, Jenn earned her Masters in Women and Gender Studies from San Francisco State University. Currently, she hangs her hat in Oakland with her girlfriend and their two rescue cats.
Matt Thomas, Web Developer. Matt has worked in non-profit technology since 2009. Prior to joining Jackson River, he was the web developer for the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE). Matt has a Master's degree in Information Science from UNC-Chapel Hill. He lives in Durham, NC with his wife, their two dogs, and their horse.
Meli Trumbo, Web Producer. Meli has been involved in web design and development for over ten years, specializing in Drupal for the past three years. She brings a passion for blending web technology with client needs and unique experience, from previous roles as designer, front end developer and Director of Web Development, to the Jackson River team.
